On Tuesday I went into the hospital with mild contractions that were present since the morning. 30 minutes after we were admitted to the hospital my water broke. Then things started to get on speed. I begged for an epidural at 6cm but 5 minutes later baby was already ready to come. At 1:20am on 10.15.2025 I got to meet my new best friend: Faith Sarang Lim. I was blessed to have fast, smooth, and unmedicated delivery. But on the discharge day, things got a little complicated because Faith was not pooping enough. Faith and I got on the ambulance and we were transferred to a Nicu at a nearby children’s hospital. It was heartbreaking to see her connected to so many wires, tubes and IV when she is only a couple of days old. She was placed on NPO for 20 hrs and we were waiting for possible procedure called Barium Enema. Luckily, the abdominal xrays were normal, she was not bloated, and she was eating fabulously well on breastmilk. But still no sign of healthy poop. On the third day at the children’s hospital she started to poop a little more! We have never been this excited to see poop. From pregnancy, this journey has been daunting. But we know God is with us every step of the way. Through every prayer, every tear, every sigh, God has teached me to be thankful. I am blessed God has lead me here, where I am. I am thankful God has given me peace.

Sometimes I look at my younger self and wish I could tell her what’s ahead ! The late nights studying, the moments of doubt, and the quiet victories that would slowly shape the life she once dreamed about. She wanted to make people smile, and now she does. Not just through dentistry, but through the life she’s built. Today, I’m a dentist, a wife, a mom to a wonderful 10-year-old boy, and soon, a mother to a baby girl. If she could see me now, I think she’d smile with pride. Not because everything turned out perfectly, but because she never stopped believing, even when things were hard. To the little girl who dreamed with her whole heart: thank you for starting this journey. 💛🦷✨

Nobody prepares you for the distress and anxiety that comes with pregnancy after not one but two consecutive missed miscarriages. The first trimester was filled with an emotional roller coaster. As much as I felt gratitude for this pregnancy, I couldn’t let myself get too excited and I couldn’t trust my body to tell me something was wrong. There was a constant fear that something could go wrong. The two weeks between each appointment felt so long and was excruciating. Hours leading up to each ultrasound appointment were filled with anxiety waiting for the heartbeat. Now that I am 22 weeks, I feel a little more comfortable sharing this news. 2nd trimester is still filled with more tests and anxiety. But also everyday is filled with gratitude, prayers and tears.
The forecast says its going to rain all week and wash the flowers away. 😢 But I can’t wait for it to be summer! ☀️

If I lived in a Pixar World 💛😛 . . My name was spelled wrong but hey, it still looks cute 😹
🦷 I enjoy small talk with my patients even more than fixing their teeth. 🦷 My posture at work is terrible, and my back reminds me of it daily. 🦷 I have a major sweet tooth—and a 10-year-old dental implant to prove it. 🦷 I take things to heart, even when I know I shouldn’t. 🦷 My faith shapes the way I practice dentistry, but I don’t talk about it much because I don’t want to be misunderstood.
Which one are you guilty of skipping??🙊 1. Floss 2. New toothbrush - every 1-3 months 3. Back molars - make sure to brush all the way to your molars 4. Hydration - keep stains and acidity damage away. 5. Lip balm 6. Next appointment - make sure you are seeing the dentist every 6 months
