New year, new habits! Let’s bounce into better brushing, drop the bad habits, lean into flossing, and rock a healthier smile all year long.

This year our wish list is pretty simple…

Healthier smiles for kids 🦷
Fewer surprises (and fewer no-shows πŸ˜…)

We recently added the itero scanner to our office. Instead of the old messy impressions, this lets us take a quick scan and build a 3D model of your teeth in real time. I use it to check your bite, look for areas of wear, and catch things like cavities or crowding early. For patients curious about Invisalign, it also lets you preview how your teeth could move, which makes the conversation a lot easier and clearer. And you get to see exactly what I’m seeing. No guessing, no pressure—just a better way to understand your own teeth and make informed decisions together.

On Tuesday I went into the hospital with mild contractions that were present since the morning. 30 minutes after we were admitted to the hospital my water broke. Then things started to get on speed. I begged for an epidural at 6cm but 5 minutes later baby was already ready to come. At 1:20am on 10.15.2025 I got to meet my new best friend: Faith Sarang Lim. I was blessed to have fast, smooth, and unmedicated delivery. But on the discharge day, things got a little complicated because Faith was not pooping enough. Faith and I got on the ambulance and we were transferred to a Nicu at a nearby children’s hospital. It was heartbreaking to see her connected to so many wires, tubes and IV when she is only a couple of days old. She was placed on NPO for 20 hrs and we were waiting for possible procedure called Barium Enema. Luckily, the abdominal xrays were normal, she was not bloated, and she was eating fabulously well on breastmilk. But still no sign of healthy poop. On the third day at the children’s hospital she started to poop a little more! We have never been this excited to see poop. From pregnancy, this journey has been daunting. But we know God is with us every step of the way. Through every prayer, every tear, every sigh, God has teached me to be thankful. I am blessed God has lead me here, where I am. I am thankful God has given me peace.

Sometimes I look at my younger self and wish I could tell her what’s ahead ! The late nights studying, the moments of doubt, and the quiet victories that would slowly shape the life she once dreamed about. She wanted to make people smile, and now she does. Not just through dentistry, but through the life she’s built. Today, I’m a dentist, a wife, a mom to a wonderful 10-year-old boy, and soon, a mother to a baby girl. If she could see me now, I think she’d smile with pride. Not because everything turned out perfectly, but because she never stopped believing, even when things were hard. To the little girl who dreamed with her whole heart: thank you for starting this journey. πŸ’›πŸ¦·βœ¨
