Crowns, Bridges, and Veneers

If you have a tooth that is damaged or broken down, our dentist can help you fix that!

Crowns, bridges, and veneers and custom-fitted tooth prosthetics made to look and feel like your natural tooth.

They are usually made from porcelain and resin to match your tooth color.
Sometimes they are also made from Gold or other metal alloys.

Crowns :
Crown, also known as a cap, is custom-fitted to your bite and it covers your natural tooth or an implant. This procedure is recommended if you have an intact root with sufficient tooth structure to hold a crown.
Procedure:
1. The probelmatic tooth will be reduced (or shaped) for a proper crown fit.
2. Impression will be taken of that tooth. The color will be selected for the tooth.
3. Temporary crown will be made until the lab makes the porcelain crown.
4.  Permanent crown will be cemented.

Bridges:
Bridge is recommended if you have a missing tooth that has neighboring teeth with decay (or missing structure).

Veneers:
Veneers are recommended if you are looking to fix cosmetics of your teeth. For example, if you are unhappy with the shape, color, or size of your teeth. These are very thin porcelain, or resin shells that will be bonded to your teeth.

Fillings

Fillings are given to prevent the spread of cavities, or to correct any cosmetic damage of your teeth. We offer local anesthesia when the cavities are drilled out. There are two types of fillings, amalgam and composite.

Amalgam :
Amalgam is made up of silver, copper, mercury, and tin. Amalgam is durable and economic option for a filling. They are more commonly used in molar restoration because they can withstand the biting pressure.

Composite resin:
Resin fillings are more aesthetically pleasing since the color match can be customized. However, resin fillings are more expensive and less stronger than amalgam.

Night Guards

Excessive clenching and grinding can cause your jaw and teeth to deteriorate. Night guards (occlusal guards) act as a cushion to protect your teeth and relaxes your muscles to prevent clenching/grinding.

What are the causes of Grinding?

Stress or anxiety

Obstructive sleep apnea

Certain medications.

Dentures

If you are missing multiple teeth, your mouth may look sunken, and your diet might be suffering. Depending on how many teeth you are missing, the dentist might suggest partial or complete denture.

Partial
Partial dentures are recommended for patients who are missing only a few teeth in a row. They will latch onto the remaining tooth's gum line.

Complete
If you are missing all your teeth, a complete denture will be best treatment. Implants are often used to anchor the denture so they don't move around.

Implants

Implants are used to replace missing tooth structure. The dentist creates a socket in the jaw and places a titanium "root" in to the socket. Once the root heals, a crown is placed on top of the implant.

What are the benefits of getting the implant?

They look like natural teeth.

They can last a life time if they are taken good care.

They are easier for speech and eating.

Scaling and Root Planning

If you have receding and bleeding gums you might have periodontal (gum)disease. Scaling and Root Planning procedures cleans below the gum line to remove hard plaque and bacteria. Local anesthesia will be given for this procedure. Most periodontal disease can be prevented with proper home care.
